Faraday Pouch Procedures

Before the first instructional bell, students must:

• Place all internet-enabled personal electronic devices in their assigned Faraday pouch.

• Securely close the pouch.
• Keep the pouch with them throughout the instructional day.

Students may carry the pouch in a backpack or store in a locker while at school.

Devices That Must Be Secured

The following devices must be placed in the pouch:

• Cell phones
• Smartwatches
• AirPods, Earbuds
• Other internet-enabled personal electronic devices

During the School Day

Students are expected to:

• Keep the pouch securely closed.
• Keep the pouch in their possession.
• Use only district-issued technology for instructional purposes.
• Follow all staff directions regarding personal electronic devices.

Students may not:

• Open the pouch during the instructional day.
• Remove a personal electronic device from the pouch.
• Allow another student to use their pouch.
• Tamper with or intentionally damage the pouch.

End of the School Day

Once the instructional day has ended, students may access their personal electronic devices.

Students who arrive without their assigned pouch must report to the Main Office before first period. Their personal electronic device(s) will be secured in the Main Office for the instructional day.

Repeated incidents may result in disciplinary consequences in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.

Students are responsible for the care of their assigned pouch.

A replacement fee of $18 will be assessed for:

• Lost pouches
• Intentionally damaged pouches
• Altered or tampered pouches
• Pouches not returned at the end of the school year

Students should report a lost or damaged pouch to the Main Office as soon as possible.

Replacement Procedures

If a pouch is lost or damaged:

1. Report the loss or damage to the Main Office.
2. A replacement pouch will be issued.
3. The applicable replacement fee will be assessed in accordance with district procedures.

Students with documented accommodations through an Individualized Education Program (IEP), Section 504 Plan, medical plan, or another approved accommodation will continue to receive the supports outlined in their approved plan.
