Before diving into tricky verb conjugations en francais, students in Mademoiselle Sullivan’s 10th grade Regents French class set their goals for the year by collaborating on a class charter. Yesterday, students went around the room adding Post-It notes with responses to prompts like “I can’t do this YET, but at the end of the year I will be able to…” or “I will use my strengths to empower or help other by…” or “A teacher who supports me will…”.
As incoming freshman filled the auditorium at SHS this morning for orientation, Dr. Paul Adler, principal of SHS, held up a blank piece of paper and described it as "beautiful." Lest anyone think he had lost his mind, Adler elaborated on his word choice.

SHS rising senior Dylan Palmiotto's love of space and planetary science was cemented early: he recalls a photo his parents took of him "reading" the book, "The Red Planet" when he was just a toddler. "Space is the future of humanity and I want to contribute to that in any way I can," says Palmiotto.
